McMurdo 2001 Overview

| Wednesday we split into two teams, marine sampling (Guy, Kristi, Marietta, and Sally) and terrestrial sampling (Andrew and Steve). Two marine stations were occupied, Station 27 and Station 34. The divers collected sediment samples, and fish samples. Water samples and a CTD cast were also collected from each station. Following sampling the fish tent is always cleaned and made ready for the next station(see photo 3). A total of 23 terrestrial samples were collected in the hills to the northwest of McMurdo Station, see terrestrial sampling grid. The last photo shows the view of Scott's Discovery Hut from one of the sampling locations high above McMurdo Station. | |||
