Today was to be the last day for most of the EO-318 crew. Flight bags were
packed and BagDrag was done. Anticipation of leaving for
Chrischurch was high. At 10:30 the night of the 20th, all EO-318 crew members
except Andrew Klein donned their ECW flightgear and boarded
"Ivan" the Terrabus for the 1.5 hour ride to Pegasus Airfield. A picture
of the Echo-318 team prior to their departure is shown below.
However, after the ride to the airfield it was discovered that there were mechanical
difficulties with one of the engines of the plane. The
crew had to return to McMurdo and is currently scheduled to ship out at 5:30
AM on the 22nd at the earliest. They are not happy campers!
