10 December 2001- submitted by Steve Sweet

Monday we sampled using the same two teams. One marine station was occupied, Station 39 (see photo with crossed flags). This station was located just off the transition near where the snowmobiles are kept until the ice becomes too soft for safe travel. The divers collected sediment samples and tissue samples. Water samples and a CTD cast were also collected at this station. A total of 47 terrestrial samples were collected to the east of Observation Hill, including some samples on the eastern flank of Ob Hill. The second photo is the eastern flank of Ob Hill, notice the patterns left on the terrain from bulldozer scouring.
