The GYRE arrived on Station S41 on 14:31 GMT on June 8, 2000 and we finished all sampling at 18:58 GMT on June 9, 2000. This 2979 m deep station is located just below the Florida Escarpment. The underwater digital camera retrieved manu images of brittle stars and sea fans. The trawl brought up many interesting organisms including a Hymenaster that is displayed by Lindsey Loughy in the attached photo (A). A Munidopsis platirostris from the trawl is portrayed in the other attached photo (B).
