GYRE arrived on Station C4 at 10:43 GMT on May 31, 2000 and we finished all sampling at 22:44 GMT on May 31, 2000. All sampling went well and it was interesting to find a hard urchin in one of the boxcores. The trawl caught a selection of trash, but was also successful at recovering benthic organisms, as the attached photos show.

This is the trash that was found in the trawl net that traveled on the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico at a depth of 1355 m for 45 minutes.

Neolithodes agassizii, a species of the king crab family, that was found in the trawl.
